The new Takeda is the result of the recent merger of TAP Pharmaceutical Products Inc., with Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America, Inc., and Takeda Global Research and Development Center, Inc. The joining of these organizations created a top-15 pharmaceutical company in the United States with more than 5,500 employees.

On July 1, 2008 we became one Takeda and we became stronger together. Joining these entities increases the scope and depth of Takeda’s global commercial and development operations, allowing us to build on our combined strengths and create a platform for future growth and continued investment.

In my leadership role at Takeda, my focus is the forward momentum of this company. I am surrounded by a bright, highly driven, innovative group of employees who are dedicated to achieving great things for this company. While much has changed, one thing remains the same: the focus of our efforts is centered on balancing the needs of our shareholders, employees and most importantly the patients we serve. With that in mind, Takeda continues to be committed to striving toward better health for individuals and progress in medicine by developing superior pharmaceutical products.
